UAE Petrol and Diesel Prices: October 2026
UAE fuel prices for October 2026 are AED 4.21 per litre for E-Plus 91, AED 4.28 for Special 95, AED 4.40 for Super 98 and AED 4.80 for diesel. The new rates took effect on 1 October and apply across the country. It’s the third monthly rise in a row, and the highest prices of the past 12 months across all four grades.
Fuel is one of those costs you don’t think about until the pump reminds you. Whether it’s the daily run down Sheikh Zayed Road or a weekend drive out to Hatta, a change of a few fils a litre shows up in your month faster than you’d expect.
We update this page every month when the UAE Fuel Price Committee announces new rates. So you can check what you’ll pay, see how it compares, and plan around it.

What’s behind the changes
UAE fuel prices have followed global markets since 2015, when monthly pricing replaced fixed rates. At the end of each month, the Fuel Price Committee reviews international oil and fuel costs and sets the next month’s prices.
That’s meant a lot of movement this year. Prices hit their lowest point in February, climbed sharply in April, eased in July, and have gone up every month since. Super 98 now costs around 80% more than it did in February, and diesel has nearly doubled.
Which fuel does your car need?
Many everyday cars run on Special 95. Higher-performance engines often call for Super 98, while some smaller engines are fine on E-Plus 91. The right grade for your car is on the label inside the fuel flap or in the owner’s manual.
It’s worth checking. Paying for a higher grade than your engine needs usually won’t make it run any better, and at today’s prices the difference adds up.

FAQs
Who sets fuel prices in the UAE? The UAE Fuel Price Committee. It reviews global oil and fuel costs every month and sets retail prices for the month ahead.
When are new fuel prices announced? Near the end of each month. The new rates take effect on the 1st of the following month. October’s prices, for example, were announced on 30 September.
Are fuel prices the same in every emirate? Yes. The committee’s rates apply nationwide, so you’ll pay the same per litre in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah or anywhere else in the UAE.
Is diesel cheaper than petrol in the UAE? Not right now. Diesel has cost more than every petrol grade in each of the last 12 months.
Why did fuel prices go up in October 2026? UAE prices track global oil markets, and international prices stayed high through September. That fed through to higher rates for October.
